Director of Religious Education, Elizabeth Kauffman

Elizabeth Kaufmann and her family have been attending First UU Berks for 10 years. Elizabeth has been active on the RE committee for two years and has been a PreK RE teacher for one year. She graduated from University of Delaware, receiving a BA in English (Business & Technical Writing). She has worked as a newspaper reporter, food writer, technical writer, breastfeeding counselor, and prepared childbirth instructor. She homeschooled her two eldest children for seven years and has found that time to be very good preparation for being a religious educator. They spent lots of time exploring big ideas, other cultures, nature, and all types of literature (from classics to comic books). Elizabeth is wife to Scott and mother to Matthew, Jesse and Katie.
