Pastoral Letter Regarding Coronavirus

March 5, 2020

Dear Members and Friends,

With news of the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak around the world and in the U.S., it’s important for our church community to be informed and prepared. Our Board, Ministry & Operations Team, and Staff have reviewed recommendations by the CDC for Faith Communities and consulted with other UU leaders in order to offer precautions to keep you and your family safe at church and to address procedures for our church community.

Below you will find recommended procedures we are implementing at UU Berks at this time. We have also spelled out additional steps that will be necessary should the virus become severe in our area. In making these decisions, we will follow CDC/ Public Health Department recommendations as they are issued.

We recognize that the uncertainty surrounding the spread of the virus can cause stress. If you are feeling anxious or overwhelmed, please know that you are not alone. Please reach out to me at minister@uuberks.org or 610-763-3375 or to our Caring Circle at g.caring.circle@uuberks.org.

We can support each other at this time and make it a priority to care for the emotional and physical well-being of our congregation and especially our most vulnerable members. We need each other, and we need to stay connected.

Yours in faith and love,

Rev. Sandra
