First UU is a sponsor of the Reading-Berks CROP Walk, an anti-hunger fund-raiser that benefits Helping Harvest, the supplier of food for FUUBC’s monthly food pantry.
Team captain Jim Beidler is recruiting walkers for the Sunday, Oct. 12, walk at Grings Mill but you can help the cause before that but coming to eat at P.J. Whelihans (1101 Rocky Road, Wyomissing) anytime from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11.
A total of 15% of your dine-in-only check will benefit the CROP Walk, of which 25% stays local with Helping Harvest!
And to sign up to raise money for the Oct. 12 CROP Walk (remember you can be a “spirit walker” if you are prevented from putting in the actual steps!), you can go to the website URL: https://events.crophungerwalk.org/crophungerwalks/team/first-uu-berks-county
