Poetry, Protest and Witness

Susan Peña, a published poet and president of Berks Bards, will lead a service featuring poetry, with an emphasis on protest and witness. The centerpiece will be her presentation, “After the Burning: Six Poems About Book Banning.” The six poems explore the concept of banning/burning books as part of a fascist agenda, in dialog with excerpts from the books mentioned in the poems. Other poets will also present their work as part of the service.
