My spiritual home and a safe place to let my children explore their own beliefs and practices.

We joined First UU Berks in 2005 because of their Religious Education program for the kids. Instead of traditional Sunday school lessons, it could be called ‘Religious Exploration.’ The kids get to explore the traditions of many faiths and form their own theology grounded in our seven principles and the fact that God is Love. Powerful stuff!

This church is a beacon of light in many troubled times. I’m so grateful for this community and the fellowship it offers to me and my family. If you are looking for a science/inquiry friendly spiritual home with a focus on social justice, this is the place for you!

The feature I love most about our religion is its universal nature.  We weave the common threads of goodness from the traditional and the non-traditional into a meaningful and inclusive holy faith.  It’s an open floor plan for spiritual dwelling.
