UUJusticePA Seeks Paid Intern

UUJusticePA recently applied for, and received, a grant from The William Penn Foundation. This grant will allow UUJusticePA to hire an intern to help in their efforts to visit many congregations and engage the youth in our democratic processes. Their goal is to motivate the under-represented age group of 18-26 to have relational conversations with their peers and encourage them to commit to a 100% voting turnout.

The fine points:

  • 17 month term (May/June 2025 – November 2026)
  • expected number of hours per month: 80 hours per month (roughly $20 per hour)
  • must be able to travel (drive)
  • congregations to visit: across the state – Pittsburgh, Philly, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Berks, Centre County etc.
  • will work closely with the director of UUJusticePA – this will be both virtually and in-person
  • June, July and August will be the creation of the program and outreach to the religious educators of each targeted congregation. Sept – June will involve visiting congregations and hands on experience with the congregants
  • Salary is $1529.41 a month (26k for the 17 month period)

Please email or call UUJusticePa Director Clara Jenkins at 973-303-2287 with questions etc.
