First UU’s team has begun fund-raising for the annual Reading-Berks CROP Walk, from which a quarter of the profits stay local with the Berks Schuylkill Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank, which in turn benefits the monthly food pantry sponsored by our congregation. This year’s Antietam Pool Annual Dog Swim was another success. I think the dogs had a blast swimming, playing fetch, and chasing each other around. We are in critical need of coffee crew volunteers. We have lost several volunteers recently for various reasons and if we cannot recruit more it could mean the end of our beloved coffee hour.
